Xmas Balls was a 'Sutro Tower Video' VHS edited movie originally produced in 1988. It was revised and re-edited from original VHS tape source material in 2005, which resulted in a much better flow of the material in the video. Originally designed as a therapeutic pastime to help me deal with my disdain for the holiday season of 1988, the video has even more relevance now as an anti-consumption counterpoint to the insanity that takes hold of American culture every December. Much of the tape consists of interviews with friends, acquaintances, and just about anybody on the street who would talk to a guy with a video camera. Some viewers will likely find certain of the creative scenes that do not fit into the interviews offensive. The final sequence includes a bit of footage of the homeless and downtrodden folks on the street in 1988. The video was produced in the San Francisco, California, Bay Area.
